I have been playing bridge casually for years, but never competitively. It also means that we cannot let a bot sit in when we cannot find a fourth. My one big gripe, however, is that I cannot set the bidding conventions when I practice. I use this to play bridge with far away family, and it is wonderful. If the AI was fixed, I would gladly pay a fee to use this app as it really is the best designed one available. I don’t enjoy playing against random people online and prefer to play against just the bots or partnered with my wife against the bots. If this isn‘t intentional design, hopefully the developers are able to come up with a better AI that doesn’t rely upon the above cheats. When the opponent bots get the bid and the bidder doesn’t have the ace of trump, its partner has it 95% of the time, whereas if I get the bid, my bot partner has the ace way less than 30% of the time.
This is usually followed up with the opponents getting 5 points hands.Ĥ. This happens quite often when I am ahead by quite a bit and ready to win.
I had my bot partner once bid 5 on an ace when they didn’t have the 2, the jick, the jack, the king, or the queen of trump. Your bot partner will start doing 4 and 5 bids (in 5 point pitch) when they don’t have the ace or even any points. The bot opponents seem to always have complementary hands and seem to know what each other have.ģ. I have gone for a couple of days with almost every hand I get dealt being almost exclusively cards with a value between 3-10.Ģ. As you continue to win, you start getting progressively worse cards and the opponent gets better cards, quite often having all of the point cards. That being said, Here are the different ways that I have found that it cheats:ġ. What the developers want, is for people to play against other people online and buys “chips” to do so. This may be an intentional design with the purpose of making the game too frustrating to play by yourself. The AI (artificial intelligence) is not smart enough to beat an average player…unless it cheats. So, why haven’t I given the app 5 stars? The problem is the AI that controls the bot players when you play against the computer. When you are playing with other people, the app is flawless and is easily the best card game app there is. So, I will attempt to recreate my previous review and see what happens.įirst of all, the app is well designed and has a lot of great options so that you can set the rules of the card games to match the game that you are used to playing.
